When one hears the term literacy, the first thought that comes to mind is reading. However, literacy is so much more. It is in everything we do, from reading a book to getting from one location to another. We often do not realize how much literacy is in every aspect of our daily lives. As a math teacher, I chose to explore this concept as it relates to mathematics. I wanted to gain a general understanding of how literacy is intertwined in mathematics, from vocabulary to word problems. As a 21st century educator, literacy plays a crucial role in mathematics in providing students the connections between skills to produce life-long learners who are able to tackle real world scenarios. Literacy, in its basic sense, is the ability to comprehend all sorts of text. It is important for educators to begin to think differently about literacy as the practices in classrooms are beginning to change. Literacy can also be thought of as the ability to evaluate and use information. In mathematics, there are key changes that can be seen in literacy infused classrooms. According to Shults (2008), â€Å"A visitor to a literate math class will hear students discussing math with their teacher and peers using the precise language of mathematics to describe and explain math concepts† (p. 4). It is this dialogue that allows students to learn beyond memorization of rote facts or formulas. Turner and Shah (2014)stated that social networking creates fraud risk and theft issues in terms of advertising and marketing of the company. Mismanagement of social media may have a negative impact on the goal and objectives of the company. Business and legal risk could occur in case of company advertising through social media. Another risk could be related to loss of brand image and trustworthiness of company because deceptive information about the company can negatively influence the customers. Conclusion As per the above interpretation, it could be summarized that social networking system is essential for business when it wants to add a mechanism in existing globalization situation. In addition, a social networking system is exercised to improve the capabilities of business and to communicate with people. It could be concluded that different mode of social networking system could be used by business to reach at the existing and potential customers. It could be evaluated that legal and business risk could be faced by a business when using the social network in a business function. Moreover, it can be concluded that social network creates the different opportunity for a company as it would be beneficial to grow the business. It also improves the business links with their customers which aid to gain the productivity of a company. It could be concluded that misleading information on social networking sites may create negative publicity. In the last, it can be stated that when a company uses social networking system then it could be beneficial to produce a better outcome in the competitive environment.
